The wind howls in the distance.
The dew drops glisten on the delicate blades of grass dancing before my vision.
Through my blurry darkened vision I witness lightning strike the sky asunder.
I stare at the small body lying directly in my field of vision.
Her hair ripples gently in the breeze.
A passerby would see a gentle soul sleeping peacefully.
Minutes pass, and she does not stir.
Tears stream silently down my cheeks as I fall to my knees.
My vision darkens and narrows, till I only see her.
"I'm sorry," I whisper.
Bright images blaze through my mind, silencing my breath.
I choke on the burning hot sensation in my throat
Memories dance in the shadows around me
As anguish grips my heart
And I fall into a deep broken reverie
Thunder roars across the sky
Its scream slaps me in the back
Stumbling forward, I look at her lying on the grass
My hand reaches out slowly
Gently I stroke her hair.
I hold her to my heart.
"Good bye, Pikachu"
